![]() I will say that I didn't love it on the first viewing, but every subsequent viewing I love it a little more. The plot is a Greek odyssey so everyone's heard it before, and it gets criticism for being a bit bland, but I think it's a good adaptation for a modern audience. I do understand why people find it forgettable. The colour grading is strong, but that's just the directors visual style, so you see it all over his other work. ![]() The reason it looks the way it does is because the story is being told to a child, so the visuals and action are embellished up to 100%. The set design and costuming are amazing. It just seemed like something was missing. None of the scenes really stuck with me and I felt more like I was watching something from earlier Disney, or the basic plot outline of a better movie. It didn’t seem to have the emotional impact that they usually do. I wouldn’t have even guessed that was a a Pixar movie if you’d showed it to me with no context. I finally finished the whole thing fairly recently and can barely remember anything about it. Worst part is that they never even properly finished the series off because they tried to split part 3 into two pieces but the first one flopped too badly to continue.Īnyways, my answer is Brave. I couldn’t really tell you the plot of the second or third, and only a few things that happened in the first. Thought they were so cool when I was younger but now I just find them cheesy and laughable. I dragged my family with me to see all of those when I was a teenager. Ugh, you’re about the Divergent movies being forgettable. But it says so much about the film that it's at gag gift status, but is completely forgettable and I whilst I'm happy to spend 5 min looking for the name, I don't care enough to text my friend about it and make her remember the film exists. It's annoying as I know I've tracked it down before, as I got it on DVD for the person I went to see it with as a gag gift. Nor can I find it when looking at the London landmarks wiki pages for their use in cinema. Slight feeling that Robert Carlyle was in it but can't see it on his IMDB. Can't remember any of the two ladies in the entire thing as they had identical dresses, long blonde hair and talked in exactly the same breathless femme fatale wannabe voices. ![]() Hell, they filmed the guy taking a phone call for 10 seconds on the London Eye, the only appearance of the Eye in the film, and I bet it was because they realised they hadn't checked off the Eye on their big list of landmarks and were panicking, shit shit shit we need it get it in somehow!Ĭan't remember any of the guys because they were all in suits with short dark hair, stubble and had voice boxes made of gravel. Every landmark had to be in it, no matter if it made sense in anyway. And by god did it want to remind you that it was set in London at every chance. It was the most by the numbers London gangster/corrupt cop movie ever. Just spent ages looking for it, because honestly can't remember the exact name of it - something like Dangerous Game perhaps? That's how much I remember it.
